Banner Purchasing Considerations

Banners vs. Flags
Is a banner what you are really looking for?  Banners are generally displayed vertically and are secured at the top and bottom with hardware.  Flags fly freely and are secured at the top only.

How Big of A Banner Should You Get?
Banner size is determined by pole height. The size of banner best suited for your display depends upon the size of the pole it will be installed on.

Small – 16” x 45” Banners
Low level poles, sometimes called pedestrian poles range from 8 to 18 feet high.

Medium – 30” x 60” Banners
Mid-level poles range from 18 to 30 feet high.

Large – 30” x 80” Banners
Large poles, sometimes referred to as highway or utility poles range from 30 feet on up.

How Many Colors Count In Your First Choice Design?
The background color is the color of the fabric and therefore does not count as a color in your design. Otherwise stated count only the colors of ink used.

How Expensive Are Banners?
There are three criteria that drive banner pricing: 1) size of banner 2) number of inks used 3) quantity of banners printed of one design at one time.  Banners range in price from $47 each on up.

Are All Banners Printed on Both Sides?
It is standard procedure at Display Sales to print on both sides of the banner for no additional charge.

How Fast Can You Get Your Banners?

Stock Banners
Pre-printed banners of our most popular designs can be delivered in five business days after payment is received.

Stock Banners Personalized
Some, not all of our pre-printed banners allow for personalization. For example on a welcome banner one could add the city name or a message. Personalization is an extra set up charge of $95 plus $16 per banner. Personalized banners can be delivered within ten business days after art approval and down payment is received.

Custom and Ready to Screen Banners
Custom designs work off of artwork created by our graphic designer or provided by the customer.  Custom work goes through a two proof design approval process and requires one half down payment prior to production.  Custom designs take 20 days after proof approval and receipt down payment.

Ready to Screen uses an existing design that is not already produced.  Customer chooses fabric and ink color and therefore is handled as custom work.  Ready to Screen designs take 15 days after proof approval and receipt down payment.

What Processes And Materials Do You Print Banners On?
Avenue Banners, the outdoor banners one typically sees on a town’s main street are printed on a vinyl or marine acrylic (Weather Guard) substrate. The processes used to print are screen printing and digital.  Traditional silk screen type printing may use either Weather Guard or Vinyl as a substrate. Digital printing only uses vinyl substrate. If your design uses more than four colors it is likely that digital on vinyl will be the best option for your project. With digital printing on vinyl there is no need to count colors in your design. Digital is the best option for customers who desire photorealistic results.
